Martin Babinec

Overview

Martin Babinec is an angel investor and entrepreneur based in Upstate New York. He founded TriNet in 1988, serving as CEO for the first 20 years and Chairman until 2010. TriNet is a cloud-based HR service provider that supports over 14,000 small to mid-sized companies across the United States. Under Babinec's leadership, TriNet grew to annual revenues exceeding $3 billion and became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. In addition to his role at TriNet, Babinec is actively involved in supporting startups and entrepreneurs in Upstate New York. He founded Upstate Venture Connect (UVC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of startups in the region. UVC provides networking opportunities, resources, and support to entrepreneurs, aiming to create a vibrant startup ecosystem in Upstate New York. Babinec also co-founded StartFast Venture Accelerator, a mentorship-driven program that invests in and helps grow a cohort of startup companies each summer in Central New York.
