Overview

MediQuo is a telemedicine platform that provides users with access to medical consultations via a mobile application, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The platform connects patients with licensed healthcare professionals across various specialties, including pediatrics, gynecology, cardiology, psychology, nutrition, and more. Users can engage in consultations through chat, calls, and videoconferences, facilitating immediate healthcare communication. MediQuo aims to revolutionize telemedicine by offering accessible and efficient healthcare services through digital means. Founded in 2017 by CEO Guillem Serra, along with co-founders José López and Albert Castells, MediQuo has secured significant funding to support its growth and expansion. In April 2021, the company raised €2.3 million in a funding round led by Encomenda Smart Capital and Dozen Investments, with participation from other angel investors. This investment is intended to strengthen MediQuo's presence in the Spanish and Latin American markets, with a particular focus on countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, and Mexico. The company has established agreements with major pharmaceutical companies, insurers, private hospitals, and public administrations in these regions, as well as with large and small companies to offer MediQuo as an employee benefit. MediQuo's platform has experienced significant growth, with over 40,000 active users per month and a network of 1,500 doctors providing daily consultations. The company has also expanded its services to include 'MediQuo PRO,' an app designed for healthcare professionals to manage online appointments for their patients and MediQuo users. This expansion aims to reach 14,000 health professionals and manage 1.5 million medical appointments within the next 15 months. MediQuo's mission is to make healthcare more accessible and efficient through digital solutions, addressing the increasing demand for telemedicine services in Spain and Latin America. Guillem Serra, the CEO and co-founder of MediQuo, holds a degree in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School. He has a background in both healthcare and technology, with experience in eHealth, MedTech, and early-stage startups. Prior to founding MediQuo, Serra co-founded MeetingDoctors, a 24/7 medical chat service, and has invested in various startups, including Holaglow, a non-surgical aesthetic medicine provider, and Centre Psicològic Mercè Torguet, a network of psychological centers. His expertise and leadership have been instrumental in MediQuo's development and success in the telemedicine sector. MediQuo's innovative approach to telemedicine has positioned it as a leading platform in Spain and Latin America, offering users convenient and immediate access to healthcare services. The company's commitment to digitalizing healthcare and expanding its services reflects the growing importance of telemedicine in meeting the evolving needs of patients and healthcare professionals in the digital age.
