SIDEX
Overview
Established in 2001, SIDEX is a limited partnership sponsored by the Government of Québec and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. Its mission is to invest in companies engaged in mineral exploration in Québec, aiming to diversify the province's mineral base and stimulate new exploration models. SIDEX primarily invests in the share capital of companies involved in mineral exploration within Québec. The fund's strategy includes promoting exploration for minerals with attractive market potential, opening new territories with strong discovery potential, and supporting existing mining districts with high diversification potential. SIDEX also focuses on encouraging new entrepreneurs and innovation in the mining sector. Since its inception, SIDEX has invested over $132 million in 387 placements across 178 exploration companies. The fund has produced several bulletins on various metals and minerals, providing insights into markets, metallogeny, and Québec's potential to help stakeholders focus their efforts in the most promising areas of interest.
