Vogt Awards

Accelerator Kentucky, United States ·Founded 1999

Overview

The Vogt Awards, established in 1999 by Henry V. Heuser Sr., aim to strengthen Louisville's economic health by supporting innovative businesses and inspiring entrepreneurship. Each year, up to six early-stage businesses receive $25,000 in non-dilutive grant funding and participate in a 10-week accelerator program that provides coaching, mentorship, and strategic introductions. Unlike other business accelerator programs, the Vogt Awards allow founders to retain full ownership of their businesses. The program is open to early-stage businesses headquartered in the Louisville Metro area, including parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Eligible businesses must be beyond the concept stage, developing an innovation-led product or service, and have customer revenue less than $250,000 per year. The Vogt Awards have supported over 100 companies with more than $4.1 million in grants, with nearly 41% of funds supporting women or founders of color, highlighting the program's commitment to increasing access to capital and encouraging economic freedom. The Vogt Awards are a program of the Community Foundation of Louisville, which brings together donors, nonprofits, businesses, and civic partners to transform the community through charitable giving. The program's mission is to fuel innovation across a wide range of industries and perspectives, empowering entrepreneurs and driving meaningful progress within Louisville's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
