StartAngels Network

Overview

StartAngels Network is a non-profit association established in 1999, comprising approximately 85 business angel investors with diverse industry backgrounds. The network's primary mission is to connect Swiss startups with seasoned investors, providing capital, mentorship, and valuable industry contacts to foster innovation and growth. Operating as a syndicate, StartAngels Network does not invest directly but facilitates investments by its members in early-stage companies across Switzerland. The network focuses on startups in sectors such as MedTech, ICT, CleanTech, Instruments, and Micro- and Nanotechnology. Investments typically range from CHF 50,000 to CHF 200,000 per company, with total funding rounds between CHF 0.5 million and CHF 3 million. StartAngels Network collaborates with various partners, including swiss startup invest, venture, sictic, venturelab, ETH transfer, and EPFL, to optimize deal flow and support the Swiss startup ecosystem. In 2023, the network facilitated financing for 12 firms, including one new company, with eight of these rounds led by StartAngels Network. The total investments amounted to CHF 23.8 million, resulting in one productive exit. This track record underscores the network's commitment to nurturing early-stage startups and contributing to the growth of the Swiss economy.
