What the checker looks for
Invalid addresses can't be delivered as written. Risky ones can, but probably shouldn't be. Free-provider and role addresses are valid, and flagged so you can decide whether they belong on a business list.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this check whether a mailbox exists?
No. It checks everything you can tell without contacting the mail server: syntax, likely typos, disposable domains, free providers, role addresses and duplicates. Confirming a mailbox exists needs a verification service that talks to the server, which this tool doesn't do.
How does it spot disposable email addresses?
It compares each domain with the open-source disposable-email-domains list, which covers more than 8,900 throwaway domains such as mailinator.com and 10minutemail.com. The list is public domain and loads into your browser, so nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I check a CSV or Excel file?
Yes. Upload a CSV, TSV, Excel or text file up to 25 MB. Every cell that contains an @ is checked, so you don't need to say which column holds the emails.
What are role addresses, and should I remove them?
Role addresses belong to a team or function, like info@, sales@ or support@, rather than a person. They're fine for general enquiries but rarely reach a decision maker, so many teams leave them out of outreach lists. The checker flags them and lets you drop them from the clean list.
What should I do with risky addresses?
Look at the reason. Fix likely typos (bob@gmial.com is almost certainly bob@gmail.com), and drop disposable addresses, which are made to be thrown away, so mail to them usually goes unread. Keeping bad addresses on a list leads to bounces, which hurt your sender reputation.
Is my email list uploaded anywhere?
No. The list and any file are processed in your browser and never sent to our servers or stored.
