What the list cleaner handles
- Any separator
- One address per line, or separated by commas, semicolons, spaces or tabs. Outlook-style lists like Jane Doe <jane@acme.com>; Tom <tom@acme.com> work too.
- Capitals and spaces
- Jane@Acme.com, jane@acme.com and a copy with a trailing space are one address. The clean list is in lowercase.
- Aliases
- Turn on "Treat aliases as duplicates" to merge tom+news@acme.com with tom@acme.com, and Gmail addresses that differ only by dots.
- Not a validity check
- Text that isn't shaped like an email address is left out, but the cleaner doesn't check whether each mailbox exists. Use an email verifier for that.

What format should my list be in?

Does it keep my original order?
Yes. By default each address stays where it first appeared. Choose A to Z to sort the list instead.
Can it merge Gmail addresses with dots or plus signs?
Yes. Turn on "Treat aliases as duplicates" and jane.doe@gmail.com, janedoe@gmail.com and janedoe+news@gmail.com count as one address.
Does it remove invalid email addresses?
It leaves out text that isn't shaped like an email address, but it doesn't check whether each mailbox exists or accepts mail.
How long can the list be?
Paste thousands of addresses and the result updates as you paste. For very long lists, save them as a text file and drop it in; files can be up to 25 MB.
Is my list stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The list is never sent to our servers or stored.
