Cleaning up CSV exports
- Any column, any layout
- Exports from CRMs, event tools and newsletter platforms put emails in different columns, sometimes with names in the same field. Every address is found wherever it sits.
- UTF-8, UTF-16 and TSV
- Standard UTF-8 files, Excel's "Unicode Text" exports (UTF-16) and tab-separated files are all read correctly.
- Duplicates and capital letters
- Jane@Acme.com and jane@acme.com are treated as one address, and each address shows how many times it appeared.
- People only
- Tick "Hide role addresses" to drop shared inboxes like info@, support@ and noreply@ before you export.

Do I need to tell it which column has the emails?
No. Every column is checked, so addresses in notes or combined fields are found as well as those in an email column.
Can it handle large CSV exports?
Yes, up to 25 MB per file, which is hundreds of thousands of rows for a typical export. Split bigger exports or put them in a ZIP.
Will it remove duplicate emails?
Yes. Duplicates are merged regardless of capital letters, and the list shows how many times each address appeared.
Can I remove generic addresses like info@?
Yes. Tick "Hide role addresses" to leave out shared inboxes such as info@, support@, sales@ and noreply@.
What does the downloaded CSV contain?
One address per row, plus a column saying which file it came from and how many times it appeared.
Is my CSV uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers or stored.
